I've been searching for eye primer reviews on youtube when i stumbled upon this video that shows how you can make an eyeshadow primer using liquid foundation, body butter and nivea cream. Since I don't have any eyeshadow base on my make-up kit, I have decided that I'll give this a try. So I got my Loreal True Match liquid foundation, Nivea creme, and HBC Body Recipe body butter in Pure Coco oil and whipped out my own eyeshadow base. And here's the result..
These are the ingredients ( nivea creme, liquid foundation, and body butter). You have to make sure that you're going to use a foundation that matches your skin tone. It's a good thing I'm not fond of using liquid foundation and I still have this True Match foundie given by my grandma. You may also use a concealer instead of a liquid foundation.
It kinda looks like peanut butter.
These swatches were from the same e/s shade. I used the home-made e/s base on the left one and as you can see, it has a better color pay-off. I actually tried rubbing it off but it didn't budge.. Hmm.. this might actually work.. I'll try it tomorrow on my lid and see if it also helps with creasing..

Interesting post! How much of each ingredient do you need? I think I might try this.
Genius! Let us know if the color lasts all day and doesn't crease or fade. :D
i put in about 1/4 teaspoon of body butter and foundation and 1/8 teaspoon of nivea creme. I'll let u know how it works out for me.
that's a good DIY idea :) i don't have an eye primer yet.
hmm i don't think this will work for me though. i have REALLY oily lids and the words creme and body butter just scare me! haha. i hope it works for you though.
surprisingly enough, it did work for me. my e/s didn't budge for the entire shift (i have an 11 hr shift, mind you..) but my eyeliner on my lower lash line still smudged a bit. oh well, at least it worked for my e/s..
Wow, that sounds really good!! I'm going to give this a shot. Once I but (sifter) jars. Hehe. :D
hey sweetie.. thanks for droppin by and commenting on my blog! the E/S i used was from the MAC hello kitty palette lucky tom and too dolly (the brown & pink) hope that helps! its a really simple look.. take cares!
oh! this looks good! :D i am thinking of doing this hehe. it might cure my UDPP lemming for a while
try it.. it really works. i have very oily lids but when i started using this, it made my eyeshadows stay put and the color pay-off is much better.
Sounds great. A DIY eye primer. I'll give it a shot. Thanks :)
